Coat of arms of the Leslie family in Ristovec Manor
PTUJ, RISTOVEC MANOR
Location of the coat of arms: façade
Besides having owned Ptuj Castle for nearly two centuries, the Counts Leslie also possessed nearby Ristovec Manor, which most probably served as a hunting manor. Still built in the front façade above the central arch of the arcade is their beautifully preserved coat of arms. The escutcheon is held by a pair of griffins, and the ribbon above it displays the Leslies’ motto: GRIP FAST. Ristovec Manor remained in the Leslies’ possession until 1820, when the widow of the last count Anton sold it to Mihael Okorn.
