Coat of arms of the Apfaltrer family in Bogenšperk Castle
ŠMARTNO PRI LITIJI, BOGENšPERK CASTLE
Location of the coat of arms: decorative object
The coat of arms was originally part of the furniture or decoration in the Grmače Manor near Litija. According to its design features, it was probably made shortly after 1672, when the Apfaltrers were elevated to the rank of barons and were given a new coat of arms. When the Grmače Manor was destroyed in August 1944, the coat of arms disappeared to an unknown destination. In 2002, it was donated to Bogenšperk and has been on permanent display there since 2022.
